Workshops in Natural Dyeing 2010

We offer 5-day courses here in our dye-house in France, where you can discover and explore the amazing range of colours obtainable from natural dyes, both locally collected and foreign plants and insects.

Have a look at some of the work done on one of our natural dye extracts workshops.

This year we will be adding felt and dye extract workshops, one here in France and possibly two in Denmark... still to be announced.

In the workshops we will explore the use of these plants in the dyeing of wool and silk. Resist dyeing methods can be explored if wished particularly on the natural eye extracts workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to work on their own dye project and dyed yarns will be taken home. You can bring small quantities of your own wool / yarns to dye should you wish. A more detailed programme will be finalised with the students.

The courses run from Saturday evening until Thursday evening. The week will also include a visit to the typical French market in Mirepoix if wanted.

Accommodation and catering in our simple gite or the chambre d'hotes a few paces away. You can view the gite online.

We offer transportation from and to Pamiers, which is easily accessible by train and bus.

Please contact us for more information and availability, stating which course you would be interested to attend.
