The pack consists of 25 gm of Red Sorghum extract and instructions which will be e-mailed to you as a pdf.

Sorghum has been used for centuries in Africa to produce red, orange and brown tones.

Temperature and alkalinity of the dye-bath greatly affect the colours produced. Try adding a little vinegar to your dye-bath for redder tones! For clear colours keep the temperature below 70°C.

The natural dye extract is produced in France by Couleurs de Plantes using procedures that respect the environment and comply with organic textile certifications (Ecocert, Oekotex, Soil Association).

The samples in the image are all mordanted with alum and dyed in the same dye bath. They are from left to right:-

Wool, Wool with vinegar, Silk, Silk with vinegar, Wool simmered, Wool/Silk simmer, Wool at 70ºC, Wool simmered.
