Merino Tops Pre-Mordanted with Alum
By Popular request, two types of merino tops: Australian and Spanish, pre-mordanted with Aluminium Sulphate.
The tops were mordanted using the minimum possible of Alum. They are mordanted cold over a number of weeks to prevent felting and are then naturally dried, very slowly, to ensure the maximum absorption of the mordant.
You may now continue the natural dyeing process with natural dye extracts of your choice.
Each pack contains
- 100 gm Spanish Merino Tops: Fine white wool, 22/25 microns, 54-57 mm. This is a 'local' Merino produced in the South West of Spain.
- 100 gm Australian Merino Tops: Fine white wool of 64’s super quality, 20-21 microns. The standard type of Merino wool which is chosen by feltmakers for its ease of use.
