As summer is drawing to a close both Adriaan and me have warm memories of the exciting days we spent with the students on our natural dyeing workshop here in Montbel, you can see some more pics here on the blog.
Now the autumn mists are beginning to veil the lake in the mornings and there is a natural tendency to reach for the knitting needles of an evening. However we are far too busy for that sort of thing, YET.
I am dyeing and winding and Adriaan is winding and labeling, frantically! We hope to be in time to create an interesting stand for the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace in London. That's for 5 days from the 7th - 11th October.
We live in a little hameau of 5 houses so this is going to be a bit of a change for us. It is a little daunting not knowing how we are going to get all our stuff into the right place in time. Our stall is RDJ1 in the Panorama Room which I believe will be signposted as the Resource Centre, so do come and see if we made it okay.
And we have 2 TICKETS TO GIVE AWAY!
Leave a comment on this post and we will draw 2 at random next Sunday the 20th September. Don't forget to fill in your e-mail address.
We will be taking quite a few new kits as well as our classic favorites.
There will be some new designs in Indigo, from French designer eclatdesoleil, blue is her favourite colour she says and with it she has created a stunning crochet shawl in three shades of lace-weight dyed in the indigo vat and from Kate Wallace, socks with a matching tam knitted with the organic Poll Dorset. In shades of indigo blue!
Renaissance Stripes by Kieran Foley will be joined by his new design called Renaissance Crescent,
This shawl is knitted with our Blue-faced Leicester 4-ply in 18 naturally dyed colours, hence the winding! We hope to launch the kit on the web-site on our return from London.
At the end of October we will be on the move again to our beloved and well-known Journées Nationales de la Laine in Felletin. This is from October 24th -25th.
À la fin d'Octobre, nous reprenons la route pour notre bien-aimé et bien connu Journées Nationales de la Laine à Felletin Ceci est d'Octobre 24e au 25.
On October 26th the knitting needles will come out chez nous!

Would love to see you in London - I've been a fan of Renaissance Dyeing for many years and have bought online before, but nothing beats seeing and feeling the yarn in real life! Best of luck with the shows.
