Summer Jottings 2020

I sincerely hope this finds you all well and that the last few months have been manageable and will continue to be so.

Summer Treats

Greening the Elizabethan Range , as if it wasn't green enough! We are offering, while stocks last, an extra skein of green for free with the Elizabethan Range.

Also, Adriaan has 'organised' a little giveaway of 2 packs of 6 different colours of the crewel / lace-weight wool for you. You can read all about it and how to enter on the blog.

New Sweater Kit

While you are on the blog have a look at the story of how the unique and utterly gorgeous Mon Seul Desir Sweater came into being. The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries inspired Australian vintage designer Kate Wallace to design this sweater so that it would bring out the colours and atmosphere of the original tapestries that she so admires. The kit of Mon Seul Desir, affectionately known as the Unicorn Sweater, designed in our naturally dyed Merinos d'Arles wool is available here. There is also a link to this and other of Kate's patterns.

Events

So we haven't seen any of you for a long time and we now realise how much of our lives the markets and salons have become. We are signed in for Les Journées de la Laine in Felletin, Creuse at the end of October. Only time will tell if this popular wool gathering will take place. That and the events for 2021 are on the Events Page on the web-site. Check back there before you set off anywhere to see if they are still happening. Hope to see you somewhere soon.

Postal Goings-on

I have been in awe of how all our respective postal services have managed over the last few months. Despite having to store and quarantine mountains of parcels and letters nearly everything has reached you eventually. The post in France is now normal, Europe is maybe taking one or two days longer than usual and further afield, at the time of writing, it is taking about 3 weeks much less then a few weeks ago. However some parts of South America are still not open to parcels from France. Hopefully it will come soon!

In the meantime do take care everyone and enjoy the sun while it shines.

Andie and Adriaan
