December Newsletter
Written by [email protected] on Dec. 16, 2014 in Dye House News, Lace Knitting, La Laine
Many of us are looking forward no doubt to a quiet family time next week, the nights are at their longest in the northern hemisphere and it is time to draw the curtains and hopefully relax. In our family we always look forward to the lights that shine indoors at this time of year but this year there is an extra bit of colour radiating through the superb Renaissance Stripes shawl created by Kieran Foley. It represents the natural dyeing work we do in a truly beautiful artist form.
Beaucoup d'entre nous sont impatients à un temps de famille ...

Je ai eu l'immense plaisir de regarder les dernières semaines la laine dentelle transformer comme par magie en quelque chose de magnifique.
Take wool of merino sheep, add a little oak galls, indigo, weld, madder and cochineal and let it loose in the talented hands of Kieran Foley of Knit/Lab and voila you have Renaissance Stripes!

Written by [email protected] on Feb. 19, 2014 in Dye House News, Lace Knitting, La Laine, Your Gallery
As you have probably read in our newsletter we had a lot of people asking at L'Aiguille en Fête what could be done with 12 skeins of our lace / crewel wool.
Andie is busy with her crochet hook at the moment but we thought it might be nice to throw the question open to you embroiderers, knitters and crocheters.
So what can YOU do with 12 or 18 of our 25m skeins?
For those wishing to participate and also for those that couldn't come to L'Aiguille en Fête we will make two on-line packages:

Natural Dyeing course in Italy
Written by [email protected] on June 4, 2013 in Dye House News, Lace Knitting
I have just returned and am still glowing from the natural dyeing course I was asked to give at the parco della villa Piazzo Pettinengo, near Biella, Italy by The Wool Box. This workshop experience was good I think for everybody, the organisation was eager and friendly and deliciously Italian, the venue and organic food were superb and everyone involved, organisers, staff and students were warm, interested and relaxed as only Italians (and some from England) can be. AND the sun shone for us for ...

Written by [email protected] on Oct. 31, 2012 in Dye House News, Lace Knitting, La Laine
Les Journées Internationales de la Laine in Felletin is a whirlwind of wool every year but this year it surpassed itself in every way. The organisers were friendly and helpful, even helping to carry in our wares for us and smilingly providing lunch and pancakes against the odds all week-end. Our fellow exhibitors were many and varied showcasing every aspect of wool and a good slice of the million creative things you can do with it.

Gitane by Marylene Lynx
Written by [email protected] on Aug. 15, 2012 in Dye House News, Lace Knitting
Marylene Lynx the designer of the Bohemian Rhapsody has done it again with our fine lace-weight merino. I am extremely pleased to be able to present to you: GITANE a bolero cardigan designed in two colour ways Mid Pink and Sea Green.
The colour-ways were inspired by squares from her own Bohemian Rhapsody, one chosen by her and the other by her daughter, Ingrid, who models her choice in main shade mid pink and madder. This is an exciting knitting adventure resulting in a very original garment that has a soft feminine feel with a very bohemian twist. Utterly stunning ...
