A super soft triangular shawl combining multi-directional construction, garter stitch, mitred squares and I-cord knitting skills.
Add to this the superbly soft Merinos d'Arles wool, traceable to a small flock living in the French Alpes and the use of indigo and madder dyes and you have an interesting knitting experience and a shawl combining the artisan skills of shepherdess, natural plant dyer, designer and don't forget yourself.
Dimensions after blockage:
Needles:
Circular needle 4 mm.
A crochet hook 4 mm for casting on.
2 double-pointed needles 4 mm for the i-cord
1 stitch marker.
A yarn needle to weave in the ends.
Stitches used:
Cast on with a crochet hook.°
Garter stitch - every row knit.
Simple decreases.
Knit two together (k2tog)
slip slip knit (ssk)°
1-cord on an edge.°

Renaissance Dyeing Merinos d'Arles wool. 3 x 100g hanks in the following colours :
Indigo - dyed with pure indigo.
Sloe - madder over-dyed with indigo
Sureau - variegated madder and indigo.
Substitution possible: You can choose any colours you like from our naturally dyed Merinos d'Arles range.
