Mon Seul Desir by Kate Wallace - Without pattern

Mon Seul Desir, a jumper inspired by the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries at the Musee de Cluny in Paris. A stunning achievement from vintage knit-designer Kate Wallace. For which we proudly offer this kit combining our natural dyes and our French Merinos d'Arles wool.

The dyes used are those that were used in the original tapestries. The words 'Mon seul desir' are written around the top of the pavilion in the last and largest of the tapestries and are incorporated into the design. There is also a row of the crescent moons which were part of the arms of Jean le Viste, who it is believed, commissioned the tapestries.

Needles:

• 3mm 80cm circular, 3mm 40cm circular, 5 x 3mm dpns, one pair 3mm needles.

Gauge:

• 27ss and 40 rows = 10cms worked in stocking stitch.

Size:

• The pattern fits a size 34 in traditional sizing. To go up or down a size adjust the needle size.

The Kit consists of ;-

10 skeins of our Merinos d'Arles naturally dyed wool in sufficient quantity to complete the kit in the stated size at the recommended gauge. 500gms in total.

The colours are

• Red, Dark blue, Mid blue, Pale blue, Mid green, Dark green,

• Bright green, Yellow, Dark brown and Natural Ecru.
