What will you be dyeing?

Mostly wool, either our French sourced Poll Dorset or the fine merino Lace-weight. But also this year a piece of antique linen for making a tote bag or cushion, French and very local of course.

With what will you dye it?

We will first be using the dye stuffs that have been tried and tested over the centuries, that is madder, weld and woad or indigo.

Our yarn is not mass produced at a greatly reduced price but is bought from French shepherds at a price that makes it possible for them to continue their work unencumbered. The only people between you and the shepherdesses, Sheila and Pascaline are the spinning mill in Biella, Italy and us the natural dyers, here in France.

Bonjour, Oui, le printemps approche lentement, le temps des bourgeons et des germinations. Il est encore trop humide pour commencer dans le jardin de teinture mais les plans sont déjà en place.

Du 8 au 11 mai je donnerai un atelier à l'Atelier de Montbrun. Ce sera un atelier de 4 jours produisant 26 couleurs ou plus. Pour plus d'informations contacter directement l'Atelier ci-dessus

Hello, Yes, Spring IS slowly approaching, time of buds and sproutings. It is still too wet to start in the dye garden but the plans are already in place.

By July it will be high summer and the dye plants will be in bloom and at their best, I hope. There is still a place or two to share this with us on this year's July workshop.
